Ham, yes ma'am!

It was only recently that I was introduced to the world of all the different types of Ham from Pick n Pay. Smoked, parma ham, lemon & herb ham, you name it! And...yes ma'am, I do like ham, I discovered. Cooked and ready to eat! That's what I call Living in Luxury. A beautiful meal that can be prepared and plated within less than 45 minutes! Ham, gammon and pork is normally associated with the festive season, dressed with pineapple and cherry. So for today's recipe I decided to try and incorporate fruit to stay true to the sweet & sour taste that goes so well with ham, by incorporating peaches and a honey & soy combination as a side dish. But the combinations didn't just stop there!

Living in Luxury, to me, does not always mean wining and dining at a restaurant, but being able to serve and plate a dish that is as visually attractive as the one you would have paid to have, but in the comfort of your own home - especially in winter, in front of the fire place, both comfortable and relaxing.

I fell in love with the rich luxurious taste of ham once I tasted it, so without further ado, let me introduce you to the taste combinations that I have selected for my Ham, yes ma'am Living in Luxury dish! {Easy-to-find Pick n Pay Shopping List below}
Ham, yes ma'am Recipe

{First}Pre-heat your oven at 190*C

{Ingredients for}

The Chicken

2 sheets of tin foil
1 tbsp. PnP Organic Olive Oil
4 Chicken Breast Fillets
2 tbsps. Ina Paarman Chicken Spice

The Ham Roll

150g Bergdale Honey & Herb Ham
Three slices Green/Red/Yellow Pepper

Ham & Cheese Cake

100g Whole Wheat PnP Salted Crackers
100g x 2 Fairview White Rock with Cranberries
100g Hartlief Black Forest Ham
3 tbsp. Stork Bake

Honey & Soy Peaches

250g PnP Dried Peaches
200ml Ina Paarman Honey & Soy Sauce

{Method}

The Chicken

Line a baking tray with a sheet of tin foil. Grease with 1 tbsp. olive oil. Place chicken breast fillet on the greased baking tray and sprinkle 1 tbsp. olive over them. Add Chicken Spice to taste. Cover the fillets with a second sheet of tin foil and cook for 20 minutes in the oven. After 20 minutes, take off the 2nd sheet of tin foil and brown the chicken in the oven for 5-8 minutes. Do not over cook.
The Ham Roll
Roll lemon & herb ham slices to form a little round 'bucket'. Slice green, red and yellow pepper and neatly present it in the ham 'bucket'. - Use a tooth pick if the ham does not want to keep the 'bucket' shape.
Ham & Cheese Cake
Lightly grease a square bowl. Line the bowl with black forest ham. In another bowl finely crush the PnP salted crackers, melt 3 tbsp. Stork Bake and add to crumbed crackers, mix well. In a separate bowl flake white rock cranberry cheese. This 'cake' is all about layering, the more layers the better! After lining the bowl with ham add one layer of flaked cheese, then add a layer of the crumbed crackers. Remember to press down and flatten the crackers, like you would to form a crust. Add another layer of ham. Repeat the layers until the bowl is full, try to finish with a cracker layer. Compress the layers and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Take the cake out of the fridge, carefully turn it over onto another plate. Garnish with balsamic reduction (optional).
{Serving Suggestion} Plate the four 'dishes' on a big enough plate and use AB Balsamic Reduction as garnishing sauce.
