{Heart} Message in a cupcake!

KoekiesEnCream is getting cupcake-ready for Valentine's Day! Surprise someone special with a little something hidden inside!

All you need to do is:

1. Choose a cupcake recipe.
2. Take 1/3 of the batter out and bake it in 'n square baking tray for half of the baking time.
3. Once you have baked it, cut out little shapes, it's easier to use cookie cutters.
4. Freeze the shapes for 2 hours.
5. Pour the rest of the batter into your cupcake tray.
6. Insert the freezed shapes into the unbaked batter.
7. Bake the cupcakes for the full prescribed time.
8. Let the cupcakes cool down and cut them to display your pretty shapes hidden inside the cupcakes!
*Add a lovely buttercream or frosting on top!
Voila!

{2013} Eerste Babatee!

Ons eerste babatee vir 2013! Dit is so lekker om die nuwe jaar af te skop met die koms van 'n kleintjie! Met ons dagboek wat alreeds tot in Maart alleen vol is met troues en kombuistees kan ons nie wag om te sien watter uitdagings ons kliënte vir ons gaan deurstuur nie! Hierdie gaan 'n jaar vol pret en plesier wees!

{Kraakvars} Koljander & Appelkoos

Daar is niks so lekker soos om met vars produkte te kook nie! Vandag se geure wat in die KoekiesEnCream kombuis rond sweef is: Koljander, kraakvars-appelkoos en sappige suurlemoen! Na al die sware etes oor die fees seisoen het ek besluit op 'n wit vleis wat ek mooi en geurig kan tooi met al die bogenoemde geure.

{DIY} Quick Chakalaka Chicken

Today was our last day of our "December holiday" and what a busy day! Packing, cleaning, driving, unpacking, cleaning and then...but wait, what's for dinner? And this - I promise you - was the easiest and least amount of effort I could come up with, I made a quick Chakalaka Chicken "flatty" - something I think everyone should have on standby in their refrigerator. I simply basted the Chicken Flatty with the pre-made Chakalaka sauce, lined a baking tray with foil - shiny side inwards - this way you direct the heat towards the chicken - place it in the oven at 200*C for about 45 minutes. {I also made a foil cover/lid for the chicken} After 45 minutes remove the foil cover/lid and place it back in the oven until the basting sauce is sticky and the chicken has a lovely brownish caramelised colour. A quick and easy dinner for the day before it's back to reality!

{Snoek}Braai

KoekiesEnCream {vakansie}kos wenke! Daar is min Klein {Brakrivier} genotjies in die lewe soos om snoek te braai, laat middag, net voor die son sak, met ‘n tikkie son op die lyf en ‘n truitjie vir die koeligheid om die vuur!
Miskien is daar een lekkerder ding…die sousie wat oor die snoek gesmeer word! Vir ons familie is dit natuurlik sonder twyfel ‘n sousie met Appelkoos konfyt as hoofbestandeel.
